Arelia is the Holy Empress of the Kingdom of Ethucan. She is only in her early twenties, but has already become an excellent leader for her people. Arelia is assisted by the Regent, Kratos, but he has gradually lessened his influence over the young ruler as she has come into her own.
Arelia is the granddaughter of former Emperor Livius Quintius Muriel, (known to the people of Ethucan as Muriel the Hero,) and daughter of former Emperor Titus Salvius Muriel, both deceased. Titus, along with Arelia's mother, dozens of other royalty and palace courtesans, and nearly the entire company of Royal Ethucan Guards were betrayed and then slaughtered in the Enchanter Rebellion eight years ago. Men, women and children were mercilessly killed. Arelia only managed to survive due to the acts of one particularly brave Guard.
Arelia is small in stature, with blonde hair and emerald green eyes. She has trained with the warrior clerics in the Great Temple of Ben and, although not exceptionally strong, is proficient with many weapons and is a truly excellent combat healer. She is very much loved and trusted by her people, and would do anything to protect them.
